Press Release: The Green Thread

The Other House ‘Residents Club’ and sustainable design duo, VIN + OMI unveil the second year of  ‘The Green Thread’, their creative partnership which will include a number of exciting activations throughout 2025, as The Other House gears up for its second opening in Covent Garden.

Following an incredible inaugural year, The Other House is delighted to announce the continuation of ‘The Green Thread’ partnership with award-winning sustainable design duo, VIN + OMI.

As two brands that aren’t bound by tradition, this partnership thrives on its bold and unconventional nature, exemplified by the deep relationship between Naomi Heaton, CEO & Founder of The Other House, and VIN + OMI. An entrepreneurial disruptor, with a current goal to forge a new direction for the hospitality sector, Naomi is a leader who embraces innovation, creativity and sustainability. And just as The Other House challenges conventions within the industry, VIN + OMI’s work disrupts the fashion and design landscape through their thought-provoking narratives around society, politics and sustainability.

Through a variety of events and activations, along with collaborative design work, The Green Thread will continue to champion innovation in design, culture, and sustainability in hospitality throughout 2025, building on the success of 2024’s creative activations.

WHAT’S COMING IN 2025

The Other House South Kensington and The Other House Covent Garden (opening Q4 2025) will both play host to a series of cutting-edge events and initiatives, including:

Fashion Shows:
Kicking off this year’s partnership, VIN + OMI will be hosting a showstopping fashion show on 19th February as part of London Fashion Week. VIN + OMI will present their latest collection, titled ‘KAOS’, inspired by the global turbulence of our time. This provocative show will spotlight the environmental impact of waste in the UK. It will feature textiles created from Daler-Rowney waste plastic, innovatively recycled materials from King Charles’ Sandringham Estate, and recycled waste materials from The Other House South Kensington. This will include rejected linens and broken crockery to fashion some incredible artistic designs. The event will see The Other House CEO and Founder, Naomi Heaton, walking the runway alongside notable figures such as Dame Prue Leith and Jo Wood. In September, VIN + OMI will also be hosting their highly anticipated S/S Fashion Week show at the pre-opening of The Other House Covent Garden, the group’s second prime London site, marking a significant moment in the hospitality brand’s expansion. More information to be distributed nearer the time.

Interior Design:
VIN + OMI are collaborating with The Other House’s in-house interior design team and have created exclusive in-room artworks for guest rooms and Club Flats at Covent Garden, echoing its art deco design theme. For those looking closely, these feature the designers themselves as well as The Other House’s CEO and Founder, Naomi Heaton. Additionally, other artistic installations will be crafted using recycled materials sourced from The Other House South Kensington and the development of Covent Garden and displayed in the properties throughout the year.

Immersive Exhibitions:
Building on the success of ‘Flora For Thought’ the meaningful installation at The Other House South Kensington during the Chelsea Flower Show 2024 (see below for further information), The Other House and VIN + OMI will unveil a new creative collaboration during this year’s show in May, in the form of an immersive fashion exhibition throughout the Residents Club spaces.

Transforming the public spaces and the private club of The Other House South Kensington into a showstopping window into the works of VIN + OMI, the exhibition will showcase intricate floral garments from the designers’ collection, including some which will be seen on the catwalk in ‘Kaos’ featuring upcycled materials from The Other House’s own operations. The exhibition will have a limited run and shine a spotlight on the traditional boundary-pushing artistic expression and sustainable design. Details will be announced closer to the event.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM 2024

Last year, The Other House and VIN + OMI launched their dynamic partnership with a series of impactful events, including:

Fashion Shows: An extraordinary fashion show takeover in April at The Other House South Kensington, featuring sustainable garments made from upcycled materials sourced from Sandringham Estate, and marking Dame Prue Leith’s catwalk debut at 83. A September fashion show in Kensington, further cementing the partnership’s commitment to eco-conscious design

Chelsea Flower Show: ‘Flora for Thought’, was an unconventional and visually striking installation during the Chelsea Flower Show, crafted from recycled materials, including refuse from The Other House and the Sandringham Estate, as well as UK-sourced cabbages. Reimagining the traditional floral displays seen throughout the borough during the iconic show, the installation saw The Other House partner with not only VIN + OMI, but the Kensington & Chelsea Foundation to spark dialogue around important issues covered in a recent report, ‘A Deepening Divide’. The report highlights the extreme wealth disparity and community exclusion faced by many in the borough, whilst also showcasing both the versatility and beauty of the inexpensive and nutritious cabbage.

Naomi Heaton, Founder and CEO of The Other House, comments, “we are absolutely thrilled to continue our journey with VIN + OMI, a partnership that embodies our commitment to sustainability and creativity. ‘The Green Thread’ represents our shared vision to redefine not just fashion and design, but also the hospitality experience through eco-conscious innovation. We look forward to weaving this narrative even further in 2025.”

VIN + OMI say, “It’s wonderful to work with a hotel group that is so positive and open minded about exploring new creative and sustainable projects”.

As The Other House prepares for the opening of its Covent Garden property, ‘The Green Thread’ partnership will continue to be a vital platform for creativity and sustainability. Seamlessly integrating innovative design elements into the very fabric of its spaces, it will showcase the importance of breaking moulds to craft a more inclusive, adaptable, and creative future.
