At The Other House, our purpose is simple: to create Residents’ Clubs that feel like home, while delivering measurable environmental and social progress. We reduce our carbon footprint, embed circular economy solutions, source locally and responsibly, and invest in our HouseMates and our communities. Every step is guided by transparent governance and independently verified standards.
Sustainability is built into the fabric of the House. From construction to daily operations, we design to last and act to reduce.
Our South Kensington property is EPC rated ‘A’ for outstanding for energy efficiency.
At South Kensington all our operations are 100% electric – meaning no gas used throughout the property.
60.35% of all our waste at The Other House South Kensington is recycled.
Zero of our waste goes to landfill, instead it is collected and converted into energy.

At The Other House, sustainability is built into everything we do, from refurbishing historic buildings to integrating energy-efficient design. Our South Kensington site targets BREEAM Excellent and has received a CCS Certificate of Excellence. With features like Air Source Heat Pumps, occupancy-based controls, and water-saving fixtures, we reduce environmental impact without compromising comfort. We measure emissions across Scopes 1–3 and continue refining our data for greater accuracy. By encouraging longer stays, reducing housekeeping, and engaging with our local community, we aim to leave a lighter footprint while enriching the neighbourhood we call home.
