From renovating and constructing buildings that will have a positive impact on the community and environment, to our focus on biophilia, wellbeing and sustainability, we are committed to providing our guests and residents an environment and experience where they can live, and feel, better. By implementing sustainable design solutions at all levels, our aim is to achieve the ‘Excellent’ category from BREEAM – the world’s leading provider of built environment sustainability assessment – awarded to only the top 10% of buildings.
Our commitment to a positive environmental impact begins by refurbishing and repurposing historic buildings. By using eco-conscious materials, carrying out lifecycle assessments during the design process, using British-made materials and furniture, and installing green roofs we minimise our carbon footprint.
Our sustainability agenda drives our daily practices both in front and back of house. From using electricity rather than gas and allowing residents to measure and control their energy usage via The Other House App, to enabling paperless interactions and running low-waste kitchens that serve seasonal, sustainable food. Every resident will be empowered to make a measured and personal contribution to a greener future through the use of technology and embracing best practices.
Positive impact extends into personal wellbeing and social engagement. Behind the scenes, team members are rewarded for positive contribution and outstanding performance with ‘wellness credits’ which can be spent across an array of wellbeing outlets spanning physical, mental and emotional wellness.
In-house wellbeing comes to life through biophilic design with large, glazed courtyards housing trees and spaces to connect or relax. Our pioneering programme at The Other Space delivers tailor-made wellbeing experiences curated by our Wellbeing Concierge and a state-of-the-art gym.
The Other House aims to be a hub of engaging activity that connects with the local community, residents, and members alike. The Other Kitchen will host pop-up restaurants in support of local or young chefs with shared sustainability values and different culinary concepts. In tandem, the Club (open to residents and members) will host a regular series of events including panel discussions and lectures surrounding our shared values.
The Other House, for people who want to make a difference.
